Windsurfing: Brog Wind Direction: SW....S Wind Stength: Variable Surf / Sea State: Small chop Air Temperature: 10....7 Sea Temperature: Weather: Cloudy, spots of rain Max Speed: Distance Covered:
After a rapid escape after lunch at work I hooffed it up to Brog. John Mich
was already there. Colin was on the water, Andy and Mr RAF too. It looked
like John was under-powered on 4.5. I rigged 5.7 and the freestyle.
On the water it felt great to be out, I grinned - one of those that does
it on its own. For about 30 mins I was well happy. Being so cycling-fit
meant I felt fine. Even my arms felt fine, which surprised me a lot. Then I
fell in a few times and I started to feel how cold the water was. Then it
got REALLY windy so I came in a rigged my smaller gear, the wave board and
4.7. I got on the water for about 10 mins, then it went again. Oh
botheration-damn-blast and a whole lot of other expletives. It was getting
a bit cooler too.
The rest of the day I alternated between the two board-rig combos to make
the most of it. Colin got some good jumps in - nice to see. Mr RAF looked
good on his 120 JP and John was on his RRD sinker as usual, trawling the
deep at times a submariner, and looking cool.
The water felt really cold, and I got the finger hots late on, which
prooves it is entirely temperature dependent, when it kicks in, as by now
it was down to 7C.
The wind was holier than the pope, and far from ideal, but I give it 3stars
as I really enjoyed the first hour.
More than annoyed at Tony though. First windy day since the ice age
retreated and he's not there peddling his tea and bacon rolls, and we gotta
change in the metal box, which was chilly. As John said, he'd better have
a guru of an excuse (is he on some island in the Carribean?)
